ECOMMERCE - Electronic Payment Solutions
During the ditributed systems seminar (April 15th,
1999) I will try to present the idea of ecommerce and emoney. Some points
that will be discussed:

A short introduction to ecommerce
What it really is. Is it important? Its means of activity:
portals,
email, internet shops, internet services, Information Technology involved.
Case studies: internet banking - Citibank, integrated
customer services - Price Chopper

Net-based electronic payment schemes (based on [*])

evolutionary approaches (based od existing solutions - credit,
debit cards, EFT/POS)
using PGP, SHTTP, SSL, SET

revolutionary approaches

value-token creation and passing (DigiCash, NetCash, Globe

micropayments (Cybercoin, Millicent, MPTP)

Electronic Payment Instructions (NetCheque, NetBill)

integrated approach - Stored-Value Card Payment (Mondex)

Important issues to be addressed when talking about the emoney:
independence, security, privacy, transferability,
divisibility, ease of use
