Personal life

I’m happily married and have 5 kids.

Passions

My first half of me is passionate about my family, family life, playing with kids and such — it’s really amazing to see the children grow up, learn and develop. They’re innocently fascinated in me and I’m fascinated by the way they talk, think and reason.

My second half of me is throughly a geek. I like to do anything from C++ (meta‐)programming, through higher‐level Python or Java programming to AJAX, CSS and web design. I’m always curious about how things work, be it standalone computer programs, JavaScript snippets, web pages, compilers or operating systems.

I graduated from Warsaw University, faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics, holding Master’s Degree in Computer Science. My Master Thesis titled “Multiplexer, an efficient communication tool for distributed systems” was supervised by dr hab. Janina Mincer‐Daszkiewicz.

During the studies I gathered professional experience working on various projects requiring programming skills and knowledge. The projects include Azouk, ZadajPytanie.pl, Odpowiedz.pl as well as non‐web projects for Microsoft, Gemius, Polish Olympiad in Informatics and Warsaw University, faculty of Physics.

After the studies I continued to work on Azouk as a System Architect. In summer 2010 I was hired by Syncron to join the team developing core part of the whole Syncron portfolio of products based on Java EE standard. With the advent of the year 2017, I moved to Teradata to work on Presto distributed query engine. At the end of 2017, the Teradata Presto team founded Starburst Data, the Presto company.
