Crossing the borderlines in fluids and biology
12-16 June 2023, Chęciny, Poland
Venue
The workshop is organized by Miroslav Bulíček (Charles University in Prague), Jakub Skrzeczkowski (University of Warsaw) and Agnieszka Świerczewska-Gwiazda (University of Warsaw).
It will take place between June 12-16, 2023 at the European Centre for Geological Education in Chęciny, Poland. The Centre is beautifully located in the Holy Cross Mountains (Góry Świętokrzyskie). Chęciny are located ca. 2 hours drive from Warsaw. The bus from Warsaw to Chęciny will leave at 17:00 on June 12th and the meeting point is the car parking in front of the Faculty of Geology, University of Warsaw. The return is planned on June 16th after breakfast.
Topic of the workshop
Our goal is to gather experts in the field of nonlinear partial differential equations describing fluid dynamics and biological processes. Even if the origin of the processes is different, it is quite likely that the methods used to show well-posedness, regularity properties, or asymptotic behavior are similar. This motivates us to organize this meeting and open up opportunities for the exchange of ideas. Some of the topics that we would like to address include: complex fluids, multi-component fluids, mixtures, tissue growth models, gas dynamics, asymptotic analysis between different descriptions.
